Open Access and Copyright

JISAS provides immediate open access: readers may access published article landing pages and available article files without registration or a subscription.

Copyright and licence

The journal’s current licence is Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Under CC BY 4.0, reuse, adaptation and commercial reuse are permitted when appropriate attribution, a link to the licence and an indication of changes are provided. Authors retain copyright unless their signed publication agreement states otherwise.

Licence terms are shown on each article landing page where confirmed in the article record. A current policy is not applied retrospectively to older articles unless the authors agreed to it; users must follow the licence displayed for the individual article.

Article Processing Charges

The standard APC for an accepted article is USD 250. JISAS currently provides a 100% APC waiver, so authors currently pay USD 0. There is no submission fee and no peer-review fee. No payment is required at submission or during peer review. Any future waiver change will be announced before it takes effect and will not be applied retrospectively to manuscripts submitted while the waiver was in effect.

The journal does not currently make claims about funding sources beyond this published fee and waiver information. Any future payment process, taxes, additional charges, eligibility, duration or refund terms will be stated before fees are collected.
